Dear Prospective Students and Families,
Welcome to Khartoum American School (KAS). We can not wait for you to be part of our KAS family
We take great pride in being the sole accredited American curriculum school in Sudan, operating since 1957, and adhering to internationally recognized standards. We are currently operating on satellite campus at Schutz American School, Alexandria, Egypt.
KAS holds accreditation from two distinguished agencies: MSA (Middle States Association) based in the United States, and CIS (Council of International Schools) in Europe. Also a member of NESA - Near East South Asia Council of Overseas Schools and AISA - Association of International Schools in Africa. Additionally, KAS is proudly sponsored by the US State Department and supported in Khartoum and Egypt by the US Embassy.
While we are currently operating at Schutz American School in Alexandria, Egypt, due to the ongoing war, our commitment to delivering exceptional education remains unwavering. The decision to partner with Schutz was guided by our shared commitment to providing a holistic education that prepares students for success in an ever-changing world. Together, we are able to offer a wide range of academic programs, extracurricular activities, and support services that cater to the diverse needs and interests of our student body.
For over six decades, KAS has been dedicated to providing exceptional education to a diverse student body in Khartoum. Our mission revolves around delivering a student-centered, inclusive education, recognizing that each student learns uniquely. To accommodate diverse learning styles, we offer differentiated curriculum supported by programs such as EAL (English as an Additional Language) and SSS (Student Support Services), which provide additional teaching and support as needed.
Despite various challenges, KAS continues to flourish, a testament to our unwavering commitment to academic excellence. This dedication is reflected in the remarkable growth of our students' MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) scores throughout the 2023/2024 school year.
Our institution comprises international committed faculty and staff, diligent students, and engaged parents, all united in our pursuit of our students' success, health, and happiness.
At KAS, our faculty continually engage in professional development to stay abreast of the latest educational developments and leverage technology effectively for virtual education. In 2018, in collaboration with the school administration, our IT department implemented virtual school days, a proactive measure endorsed by the U.S. Department of State - Office of Overseas Schools. This initiative ensured a seamless transition to online learning during challenging times, such as the Sudanese revolution in 2019 and the global COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
We are immensely proud of our alumni, who have gone on to attend prestigious universities worldwide, forge successful careers, and make meaningful contributions to society.
Please feel free to explore some of our alumni testimonials and their remarkable career trajectories link here.
We eagerly anticipate the opportunity to welcome your family into the KAS community.
Warm regards,
