French Language Curriculum

Course Description: French language for Elementary School

The objective of the French course for ES is to introduce students to the basics of the language and the cultures that speak it. It assumes that the students have minimal or no prior knowledge of the language and culture. We will address all four areas of language development: reading, listening, writing, and speaking. Students will focus on communicating about their immediate world and daily life activities and read material on familiar topics. Instruction is given primarily in the target language and in a variety of contexts to meet the needs of students.

  • Introducing themselves, the world around them, and life activities.
  • Phonetics.
  • Numbers
  • Calendar (date, days and month )
  • Family
  • Colors
  • Diverse Vocabulary

Skills and Understandings:

  • To use the language the four Skills: reading, writing, speaking and listening.
  • To communicate through mini dialogues to develop fluency, confidence and articulation skills.
  • To understand the grammar skills with in context.
To be able to use inquiry-based technology
